One of televisions favorite good boy - turned wanna-be bad boy - returned back to good boy, Derwin Davis on the former CW hit 'The Game', whose real name is Pooch Hall, has landed a prominent role in the sequel to 'Stomp the Yard', 'Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming.'
Hall will play Dane, the Step Master of the fraternity Theta Nu Theta. Dane is veteran dancer/choreographer who initially believes Chance (Collins Pennie) is a skilled dancer himself, but later realizes that he may be too much in undermining his authority.
Collins Pennie, whom you may remember played Malik Washburn in newly released remake of the hit 80's show 'Fame', will play Chance, an aspiring dancer from the rough side of Tallahassee, Florida. After running away from gangsters, he goes to Truth University in Atlanta, where he hopes to put his problems behind him. At college, he joins the Theta Nu Theta fraternity.
Already cast in the film are Stephen "tWitch" Boss, the footloose runner-up of the fourth season of Fox's 'So You Think You Can Dance.' Boss is slated to star as the antagonist, Taz. It has been rumored that Columbus Short will reprise his role as DJ.
Will Packer, who produced the first Stomp The Yard, will produce this one as well, along with Rob Hardy as writer-director. Hardy was an executive producer on the original 'Stomp the Yard,' as well. Stomp The Yard was released in 2007 and grossed $74 million worldwide.
The sequel is set to shoot early next month in Atlanta amongst the AUC Campus.
