Rihanna concert cancelled

Is this turning out to be the summer of cancelled concerts? The 50 Cent show at The Tabernacle was scotched earlier this month, presumably due to poor ticket sales, although neither the promoters nor venue cited a reason in the AJC article about it. Some changes were made to Maxwell’s summer tour amid rumors that he wasn’t getting along with Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, who had been touring with him. However a representative later said “scheduling conflicts with the venues” caused the changes. Fans who bought tickets to the “postponed” performances got refunds and numerous dates remained unchanged. Here’s that story. Now it looks like Rihanna, whose hit “Rude Boy” has been burning up the airwaves, could be in trouble, too. The Musicrooms site reported that her opening show was jettisoned due to “production changes.” A rock-solid local source tells Buzz that her Atlanta concert, scheduled for July 28 at Philips Arena, may be suffering poor ticket sales that could cancel this show as well. She is scheduled to perform with guest Ke$ha, and as of Wednesday morning, they’re still selling tickets on the Ticketmaster web site. A quick check easily found primo lower-level seats available. Musicrooms quoted Rihanna eagerly discussing the tour: ”The production is unbelievable and the costumes, we just took it to a whole new level. Visually and sonically it’s going to be a big step up from the last time. We just keep growing, and this time it is a massive production that I cannot wait for.”
