I guess it pays to be just some random guy with no real name? According to The Hollywood Reporter, it does, especially for the Old Spice Guy that we've been seeing on our television screens for the last year or so.
Isaiah Mustafa ,aka Old Spice Guy, is going to get a shot at the big screen, and on the set of one of Hollywoods biggest and most flourishing screenwriters, Tyler Perry. According to the site, Mustafa's will be cast as the leading role in yet another Madea movie, "Madea's Big Happy Family."
In an exclusive interview with THR, Mustafa states, "I got a call from my manager a week and a half ago who told me that I would be in 'Madea's Big Happy Family.' It was confirmed last Monday, and I left on Friday to begin filming."
This isn't Isaiah's first shot at a Tyler Perry film. Previously, he was slated for a role in the upcoming film "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf," but isn't quite sure why the Perry or his agency decided to make the switch for the Madea flick.
When asked his thoughts on it all he stated, "I don't know why Mr. Perry made the swap," said Mustafa, who was not contracted to "Colored Girls." "I didn't ask him his reasoning. I'm just really happy to have gotten this role. It's one of the leads, where in 'Colored Girls,' I would have been just been in one or two scenes."
Also starring in the Madea installment is Loretta Devine (as his mother-in-law) and Bow Wow (as his brother-in-law). What is Isaiah's role? He'll be playing Calvin who is struggling with his marriage and family relationships. As of yet, it has not been announced who will play opposite of him.
Filming began this week in Atlanta. Mustafa is on location through early September, when it is slated to wrap
