Mary J Blige Picked For World Series National Anthem

What more could you ask for than an R & B powerhouse like Mary J. Blige being picked to sing for one of the nations oldest past times? Well if that is your wish, then the MLB has heard you loud and clear. Blige has been picked to sing the National Anthem for this years World Series games.

If you remember just last week Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performed their hit 'New York State of Mind' at Game 2, and now Blige will sing at Yankee Statdium in her native burrough of the Bronx just before Game 6 of the New York Yankees vs the Philidelphia Phillies gets underway on Wednesday night.

Mary J. Blige has been one of the constant big voices in the Soul/R & B scene for almost the last two decades. Debuting back in 1992 with her album 'What's The 411', Mary made a name for herself fast and without equivocation. Since then she has gone on to win 6 Grammys and countless other awards.
