Frank Ocean Writes A Letter About Falling In Love With Another Man

It seems that now is the time to go ahead and let it all hang out and really come clean with who you are. Just a few days ago, we had CNN Journalist, Anderson Cooper come out about his sexuality in an email to longtime friend and gay rights activist, Andrew Sullivan. Now it seems that R & B crooner, Frank Ocean, is peeking his head out of the closet.

He hasn't really come completely out, but earlier today, the blogs were all in a frenzy about Frank's seemingly admission to being either bisexual or gay.

At the preview for his upcoming album, Channel Orange, those in attendance made note that a few of Frank's tracks made mention of "him" and not the usual "her" that we're used to hearing. The songs noted were, "Pink Matter", "Forrest Gump" and "Bad Religion". In each of the songs, he talks about being in love with "him" and tonight, Frank took to his tumblr blog to show the world just how he feels.

In an open letter on his MacBook, Frank types out a message to the world, chronicling his feelings about an encounter that he had a few summers ago when he was 19. He talks about meeting another guy and spending almost everyday together. He reflects upon hearing his "conversation and his silence, until it was time to sleep". It's a very heady and almost whimsical tale of undiscovered emotion.

The post that he made that preceded the actual letter, is even more telling as to why Frank decided to come out the way that he did, it reads as this, "BasedGod was right... we're all a bunch of golden million dollar babies. my hope is that the babies born these days will inherit less of the bullshit than we did. anyhow, what i'm about to post is for anyone who cares to read. it was intended to fill the thank you's section in my album credits, but with all the rumors going round.. i figured it'd be good to clarify.."

I admire Frank Ocean for being so candid with us all about his life. He didn't have to do this. It's not a publicity stunt to sell records, because quite frankly, no pun intended, he's going to sell albums regardless. He's a quality artist and he's loved all over the world. From what I've read on several sites, he's receiving more positive than negative feedback. I think in a day and age such as the one we live in now, it's time out for the hatred. People are going to love who they love. You can't help who your heart leads you to. Of course you will always hear the arguments that it's wrong. The Bible says this and the Bible says that... but the Bible says a lot of things we shouldn't do, but we still do them. We shouldn't eat pork, but people, even the holyiest of Christians gobble that mess down like there's no tomorrow. We're not to get tattoo's but look at damn near everybody- some of us are covered from head to toe. I say all this to say, let's stop with the judgments. No one can judge us but the God that we answer to.

I'm going to still buy his music and I'm sure millions of others will as well... men and women both.

Anywho, here is the open letter from Franks tumblr page.
