In a story he kept to his family and those close to him, Bryant Gumbel revealed on the “Live! With Regis and Kelly” last week that he had recently underwent surgery to remove a tumor in his lungs.

Obama Ends HIV Travel Ban

Last week President Obama announced he would be lifting the ban on travelers into the United States infected with HIV. This ban, instated 22 years ago, was one based in the fear of the unknown that surrounded the disease at the time. Although Obama signed the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act just a few days ago, it will take about 2 to 3 months for the travel exclusion to be completely lifted.
