Another Lawsuit: Remy Ma Shooting Victim Suing Label

Makeda Barnes-Joseph has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Remy Ma’s label Universal Music Group. In 2007, Ma was arrested for allegedly shooting Barnes-Joseph twice in the stomach, over a financial dispute. The rapper is currently in a New York State maximum security prison serving an eight year sentence for the crime.

Newcomer Blasts Jay-Z in Single

Raaaaaaaandy (with eight A's), the alter-ego of funnyman Aziz Ansari, has teamed up with TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek for their first-ever hip-hop mixtape. The story goes that Raaaaaaaandy and Sitek reached out to the who's who in the rap community. The pair would lay down the beats, while rap's all-star's would send in their verses. Jay Z's controversial anti-Christian lyrics (Video)

Christ can’t save you and life won’t begin until Christianity ends.” Those are the blasphemous lyrics in the hit Jay Z (Jigga) song “Empire State of Mind” featuring Alica Keys.

The rap icon is known as the king of the double entendre, but these lyrics only mean one thing—Jesus means nothing to Jigga.

In the tradition of the 5%’ers (a belief system influenced by the Nation of Islam), Jay Z isn’t the only artist to have used Hip Hop to assault Christianity.

Everybody Wants To Freestyle, Even The People Who Can't

The most artistic form of rapping is freestyling, which is why we often praise rappers who mastered this skill. For instance, Lil Wayne is famous for freestyling memorable lines. He skillfully spits off the top of his head, exciting his fans, who appreciate his talent. However, freestyling has become one of those annoying fads of hip-hop; like using auto-tune, wearing huge chains, or adding young or lil to the beginning of a name. Its definitely not a one-size-fits all thing and can not be done successfully by all rappers.
