Doctor sentenced to almost 22 years in prison

(AP) - A Shelby County doctor has been sentenced to almost 22 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to illegally issuing prescriptions for oxycodone, Lortab and Xanax.

An 87-year-old woman was arrested Thursday after she was caught on tape selling crack cocaine to an undercover deputy. And it’s not the first time the Pensacola woman has been busted for drugs.

NYPD cop busted in cocaine ring

NY Daily Reports: A Bronx beat cop who betrayed his badge and his long-time friend were busted Friday for their roles in a large-scale cocaine-peddling ring, the feds said. Juan Acosta, a nine-year NYPD veteran, allegedly used a police car to rob a drug dealer of hundreds of thousands of dollars in mid-2005, authorities charged. The 34-year-old cop, assigned to the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx, also delivered what he thought was 10 kilos of cocaine after boasting his NYPD ties would keep him clear of law enforcement, officials said.
