Maybach Music Group Signs Omarion

Earlier today, Rick Ross and his Maybach Music Group team held a major press conference in NYC. Ross and team announced their latest signee, Omarion and also gave imminent release dates for other Maybach Music artists.

In attendance today were all members of the Maybach Music Group sans Stalley who is currently on tour, along with Def Jam and Warner Bros. executives, as well as Diddy and Swizz Beats.

Just about everyone in attendance in representation for the label got up to speak and share information on upcoming projects, tours, and label information. Omarion took to the mic to share his appreciation for the opportunity and also showed a teaser of his upcoming video , “Let’s Talk”.

The singer is set to guest star in the off-Broadway show, "Fuerza Bruta," for two performances on April 28 (7pm and 10pm) in NYC. Remember those whacky cone bra’s that Madonna used to sport in her videos and on stage during her concerts? Well, it seems that the folks over at Coca Cola found a bit of inspiration in them. Diet Coke has unveiled a new line of fashionable bottles, one of which draws inspiration from Madonna's infamous cone bra ensemble.

One of fashion’s hottest designers, John Paul Gaultier, who is also the man behind the cone bra magic, was recently given the spotlight to express his creativity in the position of Creative Director for Diet Coke. His first order of business was to create the new bottles, showing off not only the Queen of Pop's signature look, but his own: white and blue stripes.

Q-Tip Signs With Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music Label

 

Veteran rapper-producer Q-Tip has signed a deal with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint, the label announced Wednesday. 

Best known as the frontman of iconic rap group A Tribe Called Quest, the Grammy Award-winner is currently working on his fourth solo album, “The Last Zulu,” which will be released through West’s imprint and Def Jam Recordings, according to Universal Republic chairman and Chief Executive Barry Weiss, who handled the hip-hop group’s catalog on Jive Records during the 1990s.

One Direction Facing Legal Woes Over Group's Name

 

Seems that Simon Cowell’s latest boy band sensation have found themselves in bit of a legal pickle. The band is currently facing legal action regarding their name. The claim has been brought before the court from a US band who states that they have been using the same moniker a little over a year longer than the boy banders.

The plaintiff’s in the case, also a five member band hailing from California, have filed a lawsuit after they say their efforts to "negotiate a reasonable compromise" with One Direction’s legal team have failed. They also claim that the British crooners reps have escalated the entire struggle by attempting to make them (the plaintiffs) ditch  their name to use another.

Snoop Dogg To Release A Song Book Printed on Rolling Papers

 

Snoop Dogg is at it again. The "Dogg Father" will be introducing his new line of rolling papers for all of the smokers call "Rolling Words". The book's pages made of hemp materials and the cover, lining and internal lining itself all made of hemp seed paper with the spine of the book being constructed from the striking surface for matches, will feature some of Snoops best songs.

Kanye West Enlists Big Names For "Mercy"

Just as Kanye comes under fire for his newly leaked track "Theraflu", where he eludes to being in love with none other than Kim Kardashian, 'Ye went on and released "Mercy", a heavy laden track with the help of fellow G.O.O.D. Music artists Big Sean and Pusha-T, along with 2Chainz.

Originally set to be released at midnight on Good Friday, so corny, in true Kanye form, he bucked the system and sent the track over to several radio DJ's who played the track just after 8 pm Thursday night.
