The HTC One

Behold the beauty of the HTC One.  This gorgeous phone with its blending of metal back, beveled metal edges, and full sized screen wins with its sleekness, design, and build.  The curved back of the HTC One makes it fit in your hand like a dream, not to mention the super screen graphics, and fast internet speed .  Despite the hype for the newly launched 2013 smart phones, Sony Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC remained relatively quiet about the HTC One.  The company seemed to know that this phone would far outclass the Sony Xperia Z and the Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4 with no crazy propaganda required.

Although the HTC One’s curved back can make typing difficult when it is on a flat surface, the screen makes up, by far, any inconvenience with comfort and a stunning screen.  The HTC One screen boasts 4.7 inches of full high definition 1920 x 1080 resolution with a staggering pixel density figure of 468ppi.  In comparison with the Sony Xperia Z, the HTC One’s screen possessed excellent contrast and displayed vibrant colors and shadowing details with its photographs.  However, the Xperia Z held the lead in relation to web pages due to its slightly larger screen which made reading easier.

The HTC One comes out on top with internet browsing performance.  The quad core 1.7 GHz processor brings quick web browsing with detailed graphics and enhanced zoom performance.  With its super fast processing and bright screen, the HTC One needs a powerful battery which is why it boasts a 2300mAh battery which can supported over eight hours of continuous video playback in independent tests.

One criticism of the HTC One is its lack of expandable storage.  If you use it as an MP3 player or take a lot of photos, you will find yourself running out of storage fast.  HTC has attempted to rectify this complaint with the HTC One Mini and the HTC One Max that have been designed with removable backs and mini-SD and SIM card slots.  However the Mini and the Max phones are comprised more of plastic with aluminum accents and lack the sleek aluminum frame the HTC One enjoys. This makes them look and feel less classy and more flimsy.

The HTC One was designed for quality pictures.  With a 2.1 megapixel camera, the HTC One takes quality pictures that display vibrant colors of photos taken indoors and outdoors.  Although the camera is rated at 4Mp, the Ultrapixel camera allows more light which makes it great for taking pictures in low lighting situations.  In addition, the camera can record video at 1080p.

A year after its launch, the HTC One Smartphone still feels the superior in hand than the other top selling Android phones.  Despite the slightly slower Snapdragon 600 processor compared to the currently trendy Snapdragon 800 processor used in newer smart phones, the HTC One still stays on par with its classy look, smooth feel, excellent internal speakers, exceptional graphics, quality build, and stunning screen.
